Facebook has introduced the redesigned Facebook Pages experience that brings new looks and features to help businesses, content creators, public figures, and marketers in community building. The redesigned page layout focuses on easy navigation between personal profiles and pages, task-based admin control, Q&A format for engaging fans, safety, and integrity to achieve business objectives through community building.
According to Facebook, the new page experience is simpler and more streamlined than before. However, the talk of the town is the removal of the public like counts that focuses on how people connect with their favorite pages. With a redesigned page layout, the social media giant has removed the like button to give a priority to the number of followers on a page over the number of likes.
The number of followers on a Facebook page is more important as they receive regular updates about page activities. Your followers are your real fans who actually engage and interact on a post. Facebook said in a blog post,
“We are removing Likes and focusing on Followers to simplify the way people connect with their favorite Pages. Unlike Likes, Followers of a Page represent the people who can receive updates from Pages, which helps give public figures a stronger indication of their fan base.”
In addition to this major change, Facebook has introduced some key features for businesses, creators, and marketers to achieve business objectives in more productive ways.

Dedicated News Feed
Page managers now have access to a dedicated news feed that will be different from their personal feed. It brings more ways of engagement and interactions. Facebook writes,
“We are bringing the power of News Feed to Pages for the first time. Now Pages can discover and join conversations, follow trends, interact with peers, and engage with fans.”
Apart from this, this news feed will also suggest new connections (pages, groups, and public figures and trending content that a public figure or page is talking about. Any comment from a public figure will be shown at the top of the comment section to boost the post’s visibility to more users. It will encourage more engagement from your followers and new users as well.
The new dedicated news feed will also allow new users to follow pages directly from the comment and recommendation sections.
Easy Navigation between Personal Profile and Pages
The redesigned Facebook pages experience makes it easier for page admins to switch between a personal profile and a public page. Page admin and managers can access this feature by tapping on the three-line icon on the main navigation bar at the bottom. You will see your personal profile and public pages at the top for easy switching between them.
Improved Admin Controls and Page management Tools
The new page experience allows assigning of task-based admin control to page managers for different levels of permission and access. With the new management tool, an admin will be able to assign access based on specific tasks such as Insights, Ads, Content, and Community Activity & Messages. It will allow more effective and easier management of page activities to follow up with the assigned tasks and page managers.
With redesigned pages experience, Facebook said to bring actionable insights to pages and we really don’t know what exactly the social media giant wants to state here. Some help pages suggest that it might help you understand your followers and the performance of your posts. Facebook also said to include more relevant notifications with the updated page insights.
Safety and Integrity Features
As part of its effort to make Facebook a safe place for page owners and fans, the company improves its ability to detect activities such as hate speech, violent, sexual, or spammy content and impersonation that are not allowed on the platform.
With the new safety and integrity features, Facebook will make the blue verified badges more visible so that users can easily identify posts and comments from authentic Pages and profiles. Any comment by a verified page on a public post of another page will be shown at the top and visible in the news feed.
Apart from the addition of these features and removal of the public like counts, nothing is getting added or removed from the platform in the new update. As a page owner, you will have all the access that you had previously.
