Acer’s Spin 5 laptop gets refreshed with Intel’s latest processors

At IFA, Acer today announced a refreshed line of its Spin 5 laptops. The company is upgrading the company’s Spin 5 line of convertible laptops with Intel’s latest and greatest processors to offer improved performance and battery usage.

The refreshed Spin 5 boasts Intel’s 8th-gen Core processors. The device is available with a 13-inch or a 15-inch Full HD display, and the company isn’t making any major changes to the core parts of the device. You’ll still get up to 16GB of DDR4 RAM on the device, which should be plenty for a convertible laptop like this. Acer is also offering the Nvidia GTX 1050 GPU on the bigger 15-inch model of the device, but that’ll likely cost a lot more. Acer claims the device offers up to 13 hours of battery life. Additionally, customers can also get the optional Acer Active Stylus with their Spin 5.

Acer isn’t revealing a lot of details about the refreshed Spin 5 devices at the moment. The Acer Spin 5 will be available in North America in September with both the 13-inch and 15-inch models starting at $799, and and the 13-inch model will start selling in EMEA in September starting at €899 and the 15-inch model starting at €999.
