We now move on to a new PC series signed by MSI: the AM241P. The brand offers two all-in-one machines equipped with Intel Tiger Lake processors. In broad terms, these are PCs directly integrated into the screen!
AM241P : all-in-one PC in Tiger Lake at MSI !
With this new series, MSI actually launches two machines, one equipped with a Core i7 1165G7 (11M-049JP) and the other with a Core i5 1135G7 (11M-050JP). But that’s not all, since the configuration around it also changes… Well, especially the storage part since both machines benefit from 16 GB of DDR4. Thus, we will have the right to a 512 GB NVMe SSD for the Core i7 configuration against a 256 GB SSD and a 1 TB hard drive for the Core i5 PC.
Nevertheless, we must keep in mind that we can upgrade the amount of RAM via two SO-DIMM slots holding up to 64 GB of memory. The same goes for storage with an easily accessible 2.5″ slot.
On the connectivity side, we will find the Wi-Fi 6 AX201, driven by an Intel 9462 chip while the Ethernet will benefit from a Realtek RTL811H chip in gigabit.
As far as the screen is concerned, there’s nothing very transcendent here since both machines have a full HD panel (1920 x 1080). However, the brand makes an effort by providing an IPS type panel. For the rest, we have a brightness of 250 cd/m² and a contrast ratio of 1000:1. Not enough to claim any HDR certification. Finally, we note the vertical/horizontal viewing angles at 178 ° and the ability to display 16.7 million colors.
Finally, we can count on a pre-installed Windows 10. We will have a pro version for the 11M-049JP against a Windows 10 Home for the machine with a Core i5. This is what our colleagues at Guru3D.
