It is on the results of SiSoftware Sandra that some clever people have found a processor Intel Alder Lake-S with 16 cores. If we compare this to the news in our possession, this CPU would be the top of the range configuration with 8 high performance cores (Golden Cove) accompanied by 8 energy efficient cores (Gracemont). Visibly the processor reaches a frequency of 1.80 Ghz and rises to 4.00 GHz in turbo. However, at this point it is not known whether this is the speed of the high performance cores or not. At least we know that we have a total of 10.25 MB of Level 2 (L2) cache with 30 MB of L3 cache.

When we review the rest of the news, we discover that this CPU has the Intel Iris Xe for laptops with 32 execution units with a frequency of up to 1.50 GHz. But the most interesting thing is obviously the presence of the DDR5 4800 MHz RAM memory kits. As far as performance is concerned, the bandwidth would have increased by 254% (13.49 against 34.21 Gb/s) compared to the last performance tests in October. However, some parts of the benchmark show a big performance loss, so we will have to wait for more mature samples to have an idea of the final performance. 
It should be taken into consideration that Sandra does not recognize this CPU well since it is identified as a processor with 32 threads. In reality it will have 24 threads, since only the high performance cores, the Big Cores, have HyperThreading. This configuration of the Alder Lake-S CPU should actually offer 16 cores and 24 threads.
