Apple Rolls Out macOS Sierra 10.12.2 Beta With iOS 10.2 Emojis, Bug Fixes To Developers

Apple appears to be up to speed when it comes to updating and improving its macOS Sierra operating system for its computers. Just two days after releasing its first macOS 10.12.2 beta to developers, the tech giant is now rolling out the second beta build of the upcoming software update.

According to AppleInsider, this new build is just a minor incremental update, but it does come with several bug fixes. The bugs that this new beta is capable of crushing are still unknown at this point. Perhaps developers or Apple itself would be sharing a list a day after.

What is known about the new macOS Sierra 10.12.2 beta for now is it comes with the same emojis that were uncovered in the recently rolled out iOS 10.2 beta. It can be noted that when iOS 10.2 beta was released, it was reported that it came with Unicode 9 characters. Thus, developers can expect the same thing form the new macOS beta.

Listing some of the emojis found in the betas, MacRumors stated that new characters include face palm, selfie, crossed fingers, croissant, avocado, owl and shark, among many others. The Apple-centric news site also indicated that both macOS Sierra 10.12.2 and iOS 10.2 betas update existing emojis by enhancing them with more details for a more realistic look.

MacRumors also specified that the beta build for the new beta is 16C32f, while the previous one had 16C32e. The tech site stated that based on the build codes, the new one could not be considered a full second beta build. This explains why the new beta is still labeled as macOS Sierra 10.12.2 Beta 1 and not Beta 2.

Nevertheless, the new beta is expected to bring under-hood fixes and performance improvements. It is already available for download over-the-air for registered developers who are getting the beta for the first time. It is not being rolled out via the Mac App Store.
