There is more than a way to change screen brightness in Windows 10. You can use hotkeys on the keyboard (if it’s a laptop), use the screen brightness tile in the Action Center, use the buttons on your monitor (for desktop computers), use Power Options window, or you can open Settings > System > Display to change the display brightness.
Keyboard hotkeys are probably the best way to change the screen brightness quickly. But if your PC lacks these hotkeys, all other methods out there require more than a couple of clicks. The Action Center doesn’t help you accurately adjust the screen brightness.
While all these methods are useful, would not it be nice if there was a way to accurately adjust the display brightness right from the taskbar just like how we change the volume?
Brightness Slider to change brightness from taskbar
Brightness Slider is a new program designed specifically for Windows 10 to adjust screen brightness right from the taskbar just like PC’s volume. After downloading and running Brightness Slider, a Brightness Slider icon sits in the system tray area of the taskbar.
Clicking on Brightness Slider icon in the system tray brings up the brightness slider. You can increase or reduce the brightness level by one percentage at a time by moving the slider.
Overall, a nice tiny tool to quickly change display brightness quickly and easily from the taskbar in Windows 10.
Please note that the program doesn’t start with Windows automatically. If you want to add this program to startup, right-click on its icon in the system tray and then click Run at startup option.
Also, while running the program for the first time on your PC, Windows SmartScreen filter might warn against running this program. Simply ignore the warning and run the program.
