After recording a video with your iPhone or iPad, you can then visit the Photos app to view your freshly-recorded footage. But perhaps more importantly, you can edit that footage with a handful of native tools.
One of my favorite video-editing features in iOS is the ability to trim your footage to a custom length; on the other hand, iOS doesn’t show the times at the start and end of your trim like macOS does. The circumstances are frustrating to amateur video editors, and that’s why iOS developer Kane Buckthorpe has created a new jailbreak tweak dubbed Trim Times.
Just as the name implies, Trim Times compels iOS to display
the start and end trim times of any video you trim from the Photos app.
Moreover, the tweak can even display the entire running length of the video before
you make the trim.
We particularly like Buckthorpe’s implementation here
because it looks native. In fact, This is exactly how we’d expect the feature
to look if Apple themselves had added it to the Photos app.
Perhaps the most significant selling point of Trim Times is that you can still do everything from the native Photos app, which eliminates the need to download an entirely separate third-party alternative from the App Store to accomplish the same task.
If you’re interested in downloading Trim Times to augment your iPhone or iPad’s video-editing experience, then you can purchase the tweak for $0.99 from Cydia’s Packix repository. Trim Times has been tested on iOS 12, but should also work on all jailbroken iOS 10 and 11 devices. The tweak doesn’t come with any options to configure.
