During Mojang’s conference at E3 the video game studio announced important “Minecraft” upgrade packs for later in this year. One of them is a huge improvement on visuals that includes 4K UHD and HDR graphics. This is called the Super Duper Graphics Pack and it remasters Minecraft to the point where it almost looks like an entirely different game.
The free 4K graphics update is set to go live this fall. The Super Duper Graphics Pack introduces features like dynamic shadows, lighting that streams through fog, movement in leaves and grass, new 4K textures and more.

This Pack will be available on Xbox One and Windows 10, performing best on high-end PCs with a high-powered graphics card such as newer 4K and 1440p-capable models from Nvidia’s GTX series or AMD’s latest GPUs or through the recently showcased Xbox One X. The Better Together update won’t apply to the PlayStation 4 -or PS4 Pro- version of Minecraft at the moment however, so those of you who’ve been sitting on the fence about which console to go with might chalk one more point in favor of Xbox technology with this graphics package for Minecraft.
Microsoft has been putting a lot of effort and resources into the Minecraft community, which consists of millions of monthly users. That’s why they are also introducing the Better Together Update that basically takes care of cross-playing and unifies Xbox One and Nintendo Switch consoles by taking them to its Bedrock Engine, to join the mobile, VR and Windows 10 versions of the game under one single edition.
With this upgrade anyone playing the game on Windows, iOS, Android, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and VR devices will be able to play online together.
Aside from the impressive graphics boost and getting its online gaming unified, Minecraft also presented their In-Game Servers. This essentially means that all platforms receiving the Better Together Update will now have a server browser in Minecraft’s start menu. This will allow players to browse the list of available servers where they can join in and participate right away. The first four servers to be launched at the moment are: Lifeboat, Mineplex, InPVP, and CubeCraft.
With these And other reveals at E3 2017, Microsoft has been killing it during the multi-day conference, especially with their immensely anticipated unveiling of the powerful Xbox One X 4K HDR gaming console and all the company’s other recent game announcements, including these major Minecraft’s upgrades for 4K gaming, cross-platform play and massive servers to keep their Minecrafters happy.
