Install Krita 3.1.3 via Lime Road PPA in Ubuntu 17.04

How to install Krita 3.1.3 via Lime Road PPA in Ubuntu 17.04, Ubuntu 16.04 and other Ubuntu Derivatives. Krita is an open source painting program for Linux Ubuntu Systems.

Krita 3.1.3 release announcement said: “Today we’re proud to release Krita 3.1.3. A ton of bug fixes, and some nice new features as well! Dmitry and Boud have taken a month off from implementing Kickstarter features to make Krita 3.1.3 as good and solid as we could make it. Thanks to all the people who have tested the alpha, the beta and the release candidate! Thanks to all the people who have worked on translations, too, and to Alexey Samoilov for picking up the maintenance of the Ubuntu Lime PPA.”

Download & Install Krita On Linux

A snap image for the Ubuntu App Store is also available from the Ubuntu application store. You can also use the Krita Lime PPA to install Krita 3.1.3 on Ubuntu and derivatives.

Install Krita

The Krita Lime PPA delivers the freshest Krita packages for Ubuntu, directly picked by the developers from the source tree. Run the following commands to install Krita:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:kritalime/ppa
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install krita

If you also want to install translations:

sudo apt-get install krita-l10n

Please note that the older versions of Ubuntu (including 16.04) are not supported by this repository due to outdated version of Qt library provided. Please use AppImage builds instead.
