Will 7nm AMD Navi Expand AMD’s GPU Market With NVIDIA RTX SUPER On the Way?

Will 7nm AMD Navi Expand AMD’s GPU Market With NVIDIA RTX SUPER On the Way? (Leaked Benchmarks and Specs)

Things Don’t look Well for AMD Navi

Right now Nvidia controls the majority of the gaming market thanks to their RTX series GPUs but, unlike Intel Nvidia actually has a plan to compete with 7nm AMD Navi series GPUs which are going to be released on July 7th. The NVIDIA RTX SUPER GPUs rumored to be coming in July are said to be able to outperform competing Navi GPUs in leaked benchmarks.

Nvidia RTX SUPER Rumored Release Date

According to the latest rumors, NVIDIA is going to announce all of the three RTX refreshes the RTX 2060 SUPER, RTX 2070 SUPER, and RTX 2080 SUPER on July 2nd. The RTX 2060 and RTX 2070 SUPER are reportedly going to arrive on shelves July 9 while the high-end RTX 2080 SUPER is going to be released on July 23rd. Right now, it doesn’t seem like an RTX 2080 Ti SUPER refresh is going to be happening soon.

We have also gotten our hands on leaked images of the NVIDIA RTX SUPER refreshes which further proves that the GPU is going to be announced and released really soon. Images like the one above are usually leaked a few weeks before the GPUs are finally announced and released.

NVIDIA RTX Performance

According to the latest rumors, the NVIDIA RTX SUPER refreshes are going to be very powerful. The NVIDIA RTX 2080 SUPER is going to feature an unlocked RTX 2080 Ti chip, the RTX 2070 SUPER will feature an unlocked RTX 2080 chip, and the RTX 2060 SUPER will feature an unlocked RTX 2070 chip. The GPUs are going to cost about the same as their vanilla counterparts but, they’ll perform somewhere between the vanilla versions and the higher-tier vanilla GPUs.

AMD Navi Official Benchmark | Oblirated by NVIDIA RTX SUPER?

The AMD Radeon Navi GPUs don’t seem to be all that powerful as the $449 AMD RX Radeon 5700 XT barely outperforms the NVIDIA RTX 2070 and even in some cases it’s beaten by NVIDIA. As you can see below, if the RX 5700 XT and Radeon RX 5700 have such a hard time beating the vanilla NVIDIA RTX GPUs, what is AMD going to do when the NVIDIA RTX SUPER GPUs are released? The issue for AMD is that even if NVIDIA RTX performs similarly or a little worse then AMD Navi, gamers will most likely go with NVIDIA as AMD Navi doesn’t feature Ray Tracing.
