Huawei is a premium smartphone brand targeting consumers with high demands while Honor is focused largely towards budget-conscious shoppers. As Honor 9N is going to be launched in India on July 24, Huawei is going to bring two of its premium smartphones, Nova 3 and Nova 3i, to the country shortly after.
Only two days after Honor 9N is launched in India, Huawei is going to unveil Nova 3 and Nova 3i on July 26, the company has confirmed. The Chinese smartphone giant has sent out media invites for the event happening in New Delhi next week and the teaser image is a clear reference to the Nova 3 series.
Huawei is advertising the Nova 3 and Nova 3i as selfie smartphones, but there’s more to the phones than meets the eye. The pricing and availability details will only be revealed at the upcoming national event, but fans don’t have to be in the dark to know what’s in store for them with the Nova 3, Nova 3i. In fact, Amazon has a webpage dedicated for the Nova 3 phones, giving out some key specs and suggesting it will be an exclusive online seller for the phones.

Huawei Nova 3 series has already been launched in China, so we already know what the phones are made of. There aren’t any major differences between the phones, but they offer variety for consumers with different budget.
Both Nova 3 and Nova 3i have 6.3-inch Full HD+ FullView displays with a notch and Android Oreo-based EMUI 8.2. Since Huawei is teasing the phones as selfie smartphones, Nova 3 and Nova 3i come with dual front cameras with 24MP (f/2.0) and 2MP sensors. Finally, both phones share the same connectivity options, rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, support for 4G VoLTE, USB Type-C port and lack 3.5mm headphone jacks.
Those are the similarities between the two phones. Now for the differences, Nova 3 has an upgraded rear camera setup with 16MP and 24MP sensors and Nova 3i gets 16MP and 2MP dual cameras. Both phones, however, come with AI integration, capable of recognising over 500 scenes. The Nova 3 smartphone additionally supports Face Unlock, Qmoji, which is like Animoji for Huawei phones.

Under the hood, the Nova 3 has an upgraded Kirin 970 chipset paired with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage, while the Nova 3i comes with Kirin 710 SoC, 4GB/6GB RAM and 32GB/64GB ROM options. The Nova 3 also has a bigger 3,750mAh battery with fast charging while the Nova 3i gets a 3,340mAh battery.
Interestingly enough, the Nova 3 comes with Huawei’s GPU Turbo technology, which is optimised to deliver a great gaming experience. For instance, there are about 10 different vibrations for 30 different scenarios like shots, explosions and quakes within the game. Overall, gamers will find the Nova 3 to be a great handheld device for your favourite games like PUBG and Asphalt.
Finally, the pricing of the phones in China give us an idea of what to expect from Huawei next week. The Nova 3 is a premium model priced at ¥2,999 (around Rs 30,400), while the Nova 3i is slightly cheaper at ¥1,999 (about Rs 20,300) for 4GB variant and ¥2,199 (roughly Rs 22,300) for 6GB model.
