Huawei’s currently working on the P10, the successor to the Huawei P9 which turned a lot of heads early this year for its Leica dual-cameras. Newly leaked photos show what appears to be the Huawei P10 and it comes with some very distinct changes.
The Huawei P9 has its fingerprint scanner on the back, but one of the new photos of the Huawei P10’s front panel is showing that it will now have the scanner up front just below the screen. What’s also interesting is that it does look like it won’t function as a physical Home button, but rather a capacitive one, according to GSMArena.

There’s also another leaked photo showing what looks like an early render of the Huawei P10. However, the render shows that it will have a dual-curved display, a design that looks quite similar to the Huawei Mate 9 Porsche and Samsung’s Galaxy S7 Edge. This suggests that the Huawei P10 might come in two versions, a dual-curved and a regular flat display models. The render also matches the other leaked photo with the fingerprint scanner up front.

However, the render is still showing a fingerprint scanner on the back which could simply be a mistake, or this could be an early concept/prototype. It’s also possible that the dual-curved display model of the Huawei P10 could just be a lot more different in design than the regular model, as speculated by Android overskrifter.
The Huawei P10 is rumored to have a 5.5-inch quad HD display with the Huawei Kirin 960 SoC processor, 6GB of RAM and 128GB/256GB of storage. Huawei will most certainly offer cheaper variants of the handset with less RAM and storage. On the software side, the handset will be running Android 7.0 Nougat (maybe even 7.1) with EMUI v5.0 running on top.
If Huawei will follow its release schedule from this year, the Huawei P10 could be released by the end of April 2017. If that’s not the case, it would most certainly be released at a later date within the second quarter of 2017.
