Nokia Smartphone With Dual Cameras Spotted In Leaked Video

There’s a lot of hubbub surrounding HMD Global’s upcoming high-end Nokia smartphones, but the company hasn’t announced anything yet. Fortunately, an official promo video for the new Nokia handset has been leaked giving everyone a first look into the upcoming high-end Nokia Android smartphone.

The promotional video for the new Nokia smartphones was shared online by notorious leaker Evan Blass (@evleaks) on his Twitter page. The video curiously shows four Nokia smartphones, but HMD Global has only released three so far with the Nokia 3, 5 and 6.

Nokia The Nokia 9 (at the extreme left) doesn’t have a physical home button, and appears to have dual cameras on the back.

The fourth smartphone seen on the video is believed to be the Nokia 9. The video shows the handset with a dual-camera setup on its back. Previous rumors have indicated the Nokia 9 will have a 22 megapixel dual-sensor on its back.

IBT also reported previously the new high-end Nokia smartphone could possibly have a Carl Zeiss lens on the back. Overall, the Nokia 9 seen on the video appears to carry over most of the design language of the Nokia 3, 5 and 6.

In terms of actual size, the Nokia 9 seems to be the same size as the Nokia 6. If that’s the case, then the 9 should come with a 5.5-inch display, Android Headlines said. Also of note is that the handset’s display appears to have the conventional 16:9 aspect ratio.

Nokia 9 also appears to have no home button up front while the back doesn’t have a fingerprint scanner. Previous rumors have indicated an upcoming Nokia smartphone will have an in-glass fingerprint scanner, rather than having it embedded on a physical home button.

Rumored specs for the Nokia 9 include Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 processor with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. The 5.5-inch LCD display is believed to have a Quad HD resolution of 1440p.

Nokia 8?

Right next to the Nokia 9 is also believed to be another unannounced high-end smartphone. This one is said to be the Nokia 8. Phone Arena said this isn’t the Nokia 6 due to the design of the rear-facing cameras. The one on the 6 has a small pill-shaped camera module while the handset shown on the leaked video has a longer pill-shaped module.

The Nokia 8 was also rumored to have dual-camera setup on the back, but this video appears to have debunked that. Although the video is trying to hide it, this handset actually has a physical home button up front.

Not much is really known about the Nokia 8 in terms of its internal specs. There’s also the possibility that this might not even be the Nokia 8 at all. This handset could be an early prototype of something else. There’s also a rumored Nokia 7 handset, which was previously rumored to have a Snapdragon 660 processor.

HMD Global is rumored to announce a new handset next month. The phone-maker has yet to announce an official press event, but the Nokia 8 or Nokia 7 are the top candidates to be revealed.

The lock screens on the smartphones in the leaked promotional video also show the date as Nov. 25. This might possibly be the launch date of the Nokia 9.
