Days Gone PC Features Trailer Shows Unlocked Framerate And More

Sony has now revealed that the PC version of Days Gone will release on May 18, 2021, and has released a trailer showing the new features that will ship with the game.

Here are the confirmed Days Gone PC features –

  • 21:9 Ultrawide monitor support
  • Unlocked Framerate
  • Increased LOD, Foliage and Draw distances
  • Super Resolution Photo mode
  • Mouse and Keyboard support (obviously)
  • Third-party controller support

The game was capped at 30 FPS on the PlayStation 4 when it released, and it could barely reach that target during intense sequences that feature hundreds of zombies. While we don’t expect the PC version to be too intensive, judging by Sony’s track record with PC ports, it might be too early to pass any sort of judgement on the game’s performance. However, the game is also available on the PS5 with a 60 FPS mode, so perhaps the porting will go more smoothly than last time around. The game is built on Unreal Engine 4, so I don’t expect any porting difficulties. Horizon was built on the Decima engine, which was custom built to take advantage of the PS4 hardware. Then again, Death Stranding’s PC port was excellent, and that game was also a PS4 exclusive for a brief period of time.
