Windows 10 Tip: Turning On or Off Print to PDF Feature

Print to PDF is a new feature introduced in Windows 10 to let you easily convert and save any documents in PDF format through a printing operation without installing any 3rd party PDF tools. With this feature enabled, you can forget about all other tools you ever used to save PDF copies of any type of documents, whether it’s a web page, or a JPEG/PNG image on your computer, a word document, etc.

It’s one of my favorite features in Windows 10 that I wished could exist long time ago. It’s turned on by default but if you don’t see it listed in the Print dialog box the chances are that it’s been turned off. Or, for some reason, this new Print to PDF feature doesn’t work well for you or is interfering with the tool you are happy with, here is how you can turn it off.

How to turn on or off Print to PDF feature

Open Settings app, go to Apps, scroll down to the bottom and click the link “Programs and Features” under Related settings section.

The Programs and Features window opens up. Click Turn Windows features on or off on the left.

In Windows Features window, you will find the Microsoft Print to PDF feature listed in the middle of the full list. Select it to turn on the feature or clear it to turn it off. Then click OK to save the change.
