Dell’s latest Alienware lineup will include 300Hz panels, upgradable processors and liquid-cooling technology
2020 has seemingly become the year of the gaming PC regarding a concerted effort by OEMs to push the limits of their previous offerings.
Dell is joining the fray with a refresh to its Alienware line up with new “liquid-cooled” graphics, 10th gen Intel Core-S series processor, and AMD Radeon RX graphics card option.
Dell’s updating its Area-51m, m15, and m17 laptops as well as its Alienware Aurora desktop with new features that include Alienware Cryo-Tech cooling technology 17-inch UHD screens with 300Hz refresh rates, HyperEfficient Voltage Regulation technology and up to 32GB of DDR4 memory.
More specifically, Dell’s flagship Alienware Area-51m comes with the aforementioned 10th Gen Intel Core S-series processor that sports 10 cores 20 threads processing capabilities. Dell also built a honeycomb air intake panel located just above the keyboard to put larger fan blades as well as a vapor-chamber for more efficient cooling while gaming in longer sessions.
For $3,050 gamers can snag the Alienware Area-51m with an optional AMD Radeon RX graphics card with an FHD panel pushing up to 300Hz and traditional individually lit RGB LED keyboard on June 9, 2020.
Dell’s new m15 and m17 arguably represent the future of thin-er gaming laptops with HyperEfficient Voltage Regulation technology and presumably aimed at an eSports crowd. The larger of the two offerings in the m17 can be configured with an Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080 Super Max-Q graphics card as well as paired with up to 32GB of DDR4 RAM. The m15 and m17 will come in a handful of different color options and finishes designed to combat stains and fingerprints and are scheduled for release on May 21, 2020, for the reasonable $1,500 and $1,550 for the m15 and m17 respectively.
Lastly, there is the Alienware Aurora with its breath-of-fresh-air design reminiscent of a bladeless Dyson fan, with Dell’s new PCI-e liquid cooling graphics for a roughly 20% reduction in temperature output through liquid-cooled graphics and processors. The Aurora is currently available for sale and comes with a $1,130 price tag for anyone interested.
Dell’s new Alienware lineup sits nicely next to Lenovo’s Legion efforts as well as Razer’s refined and polished gaming laptops for 2020.
