Bethesda Softworks and Dire Wolf Digital have finally released the highly anticipated collectible card game “The Elder Scrolls: Legends” after a year of beta testing. It is already out and is available to play on PC (Microsoft Windows), and it is also slated for release on other platforms at later dates.
This Thursday, Bethesda announced the release of the free-to-play card game on PC. “After several months of beta feedback from players and a myriad of improvements, additions and optimizations, we’re extremely proud to officially remove the ‘Beta’ tag from ‘The Elder Scrolls: Legends’ and formally launch on PC,” Bethesda said in a press release. The release is definitely good news to fans who waited for the game ever since it entered beta testing last year.
While PC players can already enjoy playing “Elder Scrolls Legends,” fans who are relying on other platforms need to wait a little longer. For iPad users, they can get their hands on the card game later this month, specifically on March 23. As for the rest, no specific release dates have been announced yet. Bethesda only stated that Android tablet users can expect it to arrive this April, while Mac OS users should wait until May. As for the mobile phone release of the new “Elder Scrolls” game, the publisher simply indicated early summer and nothing more.
Aside from the release, Bethesda also shed light on the upcoming update for the game that is slated to arrive on April 5, according to Engadget. The update, entitled “The Fall of the Dark Brotherhood,” contains a new story with new content for solo players. This update comes with over 20 new missions across three maps, and it also introduces more than 40 new cards to the game.
PC (players, as well as Mac users later on) will receive a free Doom Wolf mount to use in the MMO once they have downloaded the upcoming expansion. Since the expansion has three different sections, players can buy them individually or they can also purchase the bundle for £19.99 or around U.S. $24. Also, the expansion is set prior the events of “The Elder Scrolls 4: Skyrim,” as per Eurogamer, so this is definitely one thing that fans of the franchise should watch out for.
