During today’s online PlayStation Showcase 2023, Sony pulled back the curtain on a new action RPG titled Phantom Blade Zero.
Developed by Beijing-based developer S-Game, the upcoming title boasts slick real-time combat and is set in feudal China. Check out the new trailer down below:
The footage kicks off in rainy, rocky terrain with a mysterious narrator saying: “Knowing you only have 66 days to live… just run away. It won’t make any difference at the end of the day. You know better than anyone else.”
The video then gives way to a taster of the stylish gameplay teasing supernatural enemies, galloping horses, and some breakneck samurai-esque sword-swinging action. Described as “Kung-fu Punk” over on the PlayStation Blog, here’s an official description:
In Phantom Blade Zero, you play as Soul, an elite assassin serving an elusive but powerful organization known simply as “The Order.” Soul is framed for the murder of The Order’s patriarch, gravely injured in the ensuing manhunt, and, though his life is saved by a mystic healer, the makeshift cure will only last for 66 days. Now, he must fight against powerful foes and inhuman monstrosities, all while seeking out the mastermind behind it all before his time runs out.
Right now, we’re unsure whether Phantom Blade 0 will be hitting other consoles, but it’s definitely 100 percent confirmed for PS5 and PC.
No release date has been given at the time of writing, but stay tuned for more intel soon.
