With default settings, the Photos app selects all pictures and videos on your iPhone, but you can deselect photos if you don’t want to import some photos/videos.

Step 6: When you at “Start importing?” screen, select a location where you want to save all transferred photos and videos. Finally, click Import button to begin transferring all selected pictures and videos from iPhone to Windows 10 PC.

Use File Explorer to transfer photos from iPhone to Windows 10 PC

Step 1: Use the iPhone cable to connect your iPhone to Windows 10 PC.

Step 2: On your iPhone, if you are getting “Allow this device to access photos and videos” message, tap Allow. The message usually appears when you connect an iPhone to a PC for the first time.

Step 3: Open up File Explorer on your Windows 10 PC. Navigate to This PC to see your iPhone.

Step 4: Double-click on the iPhone icon.

Step 5: Double-click on Internal Storage drive. As you know, since iPhone doesn’t support SD cards, all photos and videos are saved in the internal storage only.

Transfer iPhone photos to Windows 10 using Phone Companion

Phone Companion is another built-in Windows 10 app. The Phone Companion app can also be used to transfer photos from iPhone to your Windows 10 PC.

Step 1: Connect your iPhone to your Windows 10 PC using the cable provided with the phone.

Step 2: On your Windows 10 PC, launch the built-in Phone Companion app using Start/taskbar search. If the app is not there, please install the same from the Store.

Step 3: You should now see the following page of Phone Companion app.

If you cannot see your iPhone, simply click the Show button located the bottom of the page.

Step 4: Click Import photos and videos link (refer to the picture above). This action will automatically open the Photos app and select all photos and videos on your iPhone.

Step 5: Deselect photos and videos that you don’t want to transfer to your PC. Click Continue button.
