Free Twitch Prime games for January 2020: Free PC games for subscribers

The Amazon-owned Twitch has been running a paid membership tier for a while now, but if you haven’t been tempted to join before your head might be turned by the fact there are free games every month.

Like PlayStation Plus or Xbox Live Gold, Twitch Prime gives away free games to download and keep each month. Twitch Prime membership is included with an Amazon Prime or Prime Video subscription. If you have either, you need to link your Amazon and Twitch accounts to get the free games.

This means that access to Twitch Prime costs just £7.99 a month or $12.99 in the US. That subscription not only gets you ad-free viewing across Twitch channels, exclusive emoticons, chat options and a chat badge but these free games as well.

The company has recently announced the list of games that Twitch Prime members can download this month. We’ve got the info.

Heave Ho

Heave Ho is a party game that’s designed very much to be played with friends. It’s also a weird and wonderful way to virtually hold hands with your friends as that’s the entire premise. Use your grip and hold hands so you don’t all fall to a nasty death. Up to four players can band together here for some zany fun.

Gato Roboto

This one is a retro-styled indie game that throws you inside an armoured mech suit smashing and dashing your way through a treacherous alien world. Just remember, cats only have nine lives.

Witcheye

Another colourful platform adventure game, Witcheye gives you 50 levels to explore with all manner of enemies, colourful environments and mysteries to solve.

“Set off on an adventure as a mild-mannered witch who transforms into a flying eyeball of vengeance after a smarmy knight and wizard steal her spell ingredients. ”

Enter The Gungeon

Pew pew pew! Enter The Gungeon is a gunfight dungeon crawler where you loot and shoot your way through various intense levels. Choose your hero and battle your way through the Gungeon. Expect hard battles, plenty of loot and secrets galore too.

Splasher

Splasher is a fast-paced arcade action game with vibrant colours and bonkers gameplay. You play as a purple-haired hero who’s launching an attack on a paint factory in order to save the workers from their evil boss.

A Normal Lost Phone

This game is an interactive fiction adventure where you have discovered a lost phone and are out on a mission to uncover the mysteries behind it.

Scroll through text messages, search through apps, poke about in the phone gallery. Set out to find what happened to its owner.

Kingdom: New Lands

Another magnificent pixel-styled indie survival game with mysterious isles to explore.

“Kingdom: New Lands builds upon the award-winning gameplay and mystery of Kingdom by introducing an abundance of new content to the IGF-nominated title while maintaining the simplicity and depth that legions of monarchs have come to experience and enjoy. Travel to the New Lands and welcome the deluge of new mounts, merchants, and vagrants that call these isles home, but be wary of the new obstacles that threaten your arrival — for not just the greedy creatures block your way but even the environment itself can defeat you.”

Anarcute

Anarcute is the cutest riot simulator you’re ever likely to play, which is quite something. Run away from the police, enlist some friends, smash down buildings and cause utter mayhem.

If you’re itching to smash some stuff up, then this game is for you.

Dandara

Dandara is a unique indie 2D metroidvania platformer with an uber nifty female protagonist. Dash around the environment, jumping across walls, ceilings and floors with the greatest of ease while discovering the mysteries that the world of Salt has to offer.
