Amazon Prime Day is now officially over but many of the prices that were set when it went live still persist and we’ve found several here for some of today’s best 4K and FHD expanded color gamut PC monitors. Thus, if you’re looking to upgrade the quality of your computer gaming experience or just want a display for professional editing work that really brings out the fine details, some of the following are sincerely excellent deals in terms of value per dollar spent.
Most importantly, the following monitors all all offer expanded color gamut coverage. With one exception, they’re not HDR 4K monitor models with truly mind-blowing color but what they do offer is a higher level of sRGB or AdobeRGB color space coverage and for both gamers and visual editors in particular, that can be one extremely important factor.
Additionally, the extra resolution offered by the 4K ultra HD monitors on this list means a much finer gradient of detail. Some might argue that this many pixels (8.29 million for 4K UHD resolution) on a screen no more than 27 to 34 inches across is a bit too much but we can safely say that the extra sharpness does make a difference, especially when you consider the typical distances from which most people view their PC screen.
On a final note, we really need to stress that the expanded resolution of some of the following monitors does mean a need for serious processing power, especially if you mean to do some gaming in UHD resolution. If you just want to use your new 4K monitor for visual editing, you won’t need a 4K gaming-friendly GPU like the ones we review here, but even for regular office requirements, high performance CPUs like Intel’s Kaby Lake series processors are a good idea, along with Windows 10, which is much more 4K-friendly than Windows 8.

The price above is for a brand new Samsung U28E590D 4K UHD monitor with AMD FreeSync and 4ms response time. This model originally came out in 2016 but still offers superb gaming and color performance while also delivering plenty of display space. We highly recommend it and at $250, it’s a superb deal. The U28E590D is a full-blown 4K ultra HD monitor.

This is one of the most advanced PC displays in the world right now and one of the first to come with extremely advanced and visually spectacular DisplayHDR-qualified specs. It’s just now going on sale with major retailers and if you want PC display with the quality of a premium 4K UHD TV. The peak brightness alone of this model is mind-blowing at over 1000 nits. No 4K monitor from before 2018 came close to delivering that.
