ASRock Unveils Worlds First mATX X399 Motherboard

ASRock has revealed it’s most recent additions to the small form factor (SFF) motherboards based on the X299 and X399 chipsets, this is a first in the Threadripper line-up. The SFF PC has been gaining traction lately and these two chipsets allow for massive computing power in a small package.

ASRock X399M Taichi

The ASRock Taichi series is well known as their high-end enthusiast motherboard coming with great power systems and all the bells and whistles you would expect. The X399M Taichi manages to pack them all into a mATX motherboard which is a challenge in itself. They start off with an 11 phase DrMOS voltage regulating system for cleaner power and overclocking headroom and still manage to offer quad-channel ram capabilities with two slots on either side of that massive TR4 socket. It’s also equipped with three full-speed PCIe 3.0 X16 slots for three-way SLI or Cross-Fire and tons of storage options such as a U.2 and three M.2 connectors on board. More details to come here at ASRock X399 Motherboards.

ASRock X299M Extreme 4

Next up is the X299M Extreme 4 from ASRock, it’s not a first to the market but it’s definitely well equipped and supports al the LGA 2066 Intel Core X-Series Processors. It’s also equipped with an 11 phase power delivery system and a large VRM heatsink for pushing those big multi-core processors and keeping it cool at the same time. The Extreme 4 also features dual Intel Gigabit LAN, USB 3.1 Gen2 “A”, and “C” as well as an Ultra M.2 slot which accommodates up to a Type 22110 NVMe SSD. More details will be available at ASRock’s X299 motherboard page.

Two more quality additions to the small form factor segment and I have to hand it to ASRock for being the first to market with a Threadripper mATX motherboard. It would be nice to have a few more details but this is all the info I have presently on these two motherboards. The sites should be updated sometime after CES winds down and more detailed information will be available at that time.
