'Horizon Zero Dawn' Cauldrons Guide: Find Out Where To Go To Improve Aloy's Override

Millions of Horizon Zero Dawn players are still exploring the first few hours of the game, figuring out which combat approaches they prefer and the side activities they enjoy. But Cauldrons seem to be a hit with everyone who’s departed Horizon Zero Dawn ’s starting zone. And not everyone wants to wait until they’ve uncovered the entire map before exploring the next facility.

Unfortunately, some of the Cauldrons are (literally) gated behind a portion of the main quest. We won’t get into spoilers here, just in case you’ve been putting off the main quest chain, but you’ll only be able to access two of the four Cauldrons in Horizon Zero Dawn until Aloy gains access to the western half of the map. That’s actually true for most of the game’s collectibles and side quests, including the Tallnecks, but it’s especially frustrating for any Horizon Zero Dawn player who wanted to learn the override for every species in the game before continuing the story. On the plus side, if you’ve already departed Horizon Zero Dawn ’s starting zone, you shouldn’t be more than a few hours away from unlocking the rest of the map.

Here’s a map showing where you’ll find all four of the Cauldrons in Horizon Zero Dawn:
