Snapchat acquired Bitmoji a while back. Bitmoji lets you create highly customizable avatars for you social media profiles. Snapchat integrated Bitmoji inside the app. It lets users add their avatars to snaps and send them as stickers. Before you can start using your Bitmoji avatar, you need to create and import a Bitmoji avatar in Snapchat. To create and import a Bitmoji avatar in Snapchat, you must have the Bitmoji app and the Snapchat app installed on your phone. Here’s what you have to do.
Create Bitmoji Avatar
Install the Bitmoji app on your phone. Open Snapchat and tap the ghost icon at the top left to go to your profile screen. On the top left of the profile screen, tap the Create Bitmoji button. Snapchat will take you to the Bitmoji screen. Tap ‘Create Bitmoji’. You will switch to the Bitmoji app.
If you have a Bitmoji account, use it to sign in. If you don’t have a Bitmoji account, you can sign in using Snapchat. Tap the ‘Create with Snapchat’ button to sign in with your Snapchat account. Next, create your Bitmoji avatar. You’re going to be spoiled for choice so go ahead and take your time.
Import Bitmoji Avatar In Snapchat
Once you’ve created your Bitmoji Emoji, you will see a ‘Connect Bitmoji to Snapchat’ option at the very end. Tap it and your avatar will be sent to Snapchat.
Edit Bitmoji Avatar
To edit your Bitmoji avatar, update it in the Bitmoji app. The changes you make to the avatar will sync to Snapchat. You won’t have to import the new avatar to your Snapchat account. The Bitmoji app must be installed on your phone to edit your avatar. Editing isn’t possible from the Snapchat app.
Remove Bitmoji Avatar
If you get tired of the Bitmoji avatar, you can remove it. To do so, open Snapchat. Tap the ghost icon at the top left to go to your profile screen. Tap the ‘Edit Bitmoji’ icon at the top left. At the bottom of the Bitmoji screen is an ‘Unlink your Bitmoji’ button. Tap it to remove the avatar.
If you signed into Bitmoji using Snapchat, you will lose your avatar completely. If you want to keep the avatar but remove it from Snapchat, consider signing up for a Bitmoji account first and use it to sign into the Bitmoji app.
Bitmoji avatars are available for Snapchat users on iOS and Android.
