Snapchat’s My AI is an artificial intelligence-based chatbot that answers many questions from inside Snapchat. It’s powered by OpenAI’s ChatGPT, and you can ask it various questions, like place recommendations, trivia, and more. If you don’t have this chatbot in your app yet, let us show you how to “add” it to Snapchat on your iPhone or Android phone.
Find My AI in Your Snapchat Account
Snapchat’s My AI isn’t a feature that you need to manually add to your app. It may already be in your app, and all you have to do is just access it. If you aren’t sure where to find it, the following steps will help you out.
First, launch the Snapchat app on your phone. In the app’s bottom bar, tap “Chat” (a speech bubble icon).
On the “Chat” page that opens, you’ll find a contact saying “My AI.” This is Snapchat’s My AI chatbot. Tap it to have a conversation with it.
You’re now in a chat with My AI. To ask the chatbot a question, tap the “Send a Chat” box, type your question, and press Enter. The AI-powered chatbot will answer your question based on the data it has been fed.
You can use the chatbot to get answers to various questions. For example, you can use it to get gift suggestions, recipe ideas, and much more. Since it’s ChatGPT-powered, you can do a lot of things with it—without leaving your favorite app.
What If You Don’t See My AI in Your Snapchat Account?
If you access your Chat page in Snapchat but don’t see the My AI chatbot, the app may not have added it to your main Chat screen, or there may be another reason.
We’ll show you a few ways to bring the chatbot into your Snapchat app.
Add My AI to Your Chat Page
If you don’t find My AI on your Chat page, manually find and add the chatbot to that page.
To do that, on Snapchat’s “Chat” page, tap the search icon at the top. On the following screen, search for “My AI” and select it in the search results.
You now have access to My AI.
Update Your Snapchat App
If you can’t find My AI with search, you may be using an old version of the Snapchat app on your phone. In this case, update your app version on your iPhone or Android phone to resolve your issue.
To do that on an Android phone, open Google Play Store, find “Snapchat”, and tap “Update.”
If you’re an iPhone user, launch App Store, tap “Updates,” and select “Update” next to “Snapchat.”
When you’ve updated your app, launch Snapchat, access the “Chat” page, and you’ll see the “My AI” chatbot waiting for you there.
My AI May Not Be Available in Your Region
If updating the app didn’t make My AI available in your app, Snapchat may have yet to roll out the chatbot in your region. As of August 2023, Snapchat hasn’t rolled out this chatbot worldwide. This means you’ll have to wait until the company brings the feature to your region.
While you can’t access Snapchat’s My AI tool, you have many other similar tools to use. For example, you can use ChatGPT, Bard, Bing Chat, and so on. There are even AI-based image generators that you can use to create graphics.
