There are over two dozens of new apps in Windows 10. Mail & Calendar, Store, Alarms & Clock, Calculator, Groove Music, Weather, Maps, and Photos are some of the popular apps offered with Windows 10.

Before this, if an app was not opening or functioning properly, we had very few options. While it’s possible to reinstall Store and other preinstalled apps in Windows 10, the process is not very straight-forward.

In Windows 10 Anniversary build (the stable build is coming on August 2, 2016) you can reset an app if it’s opening or working properly. And the best part is that you don’t need to use PowerShell or Command Prompt to reset apps. The reset job can be done from the Settings app.

Guide to reset an app in Windows 10

Complete given below directions to reset an app in Windows 10.

Step 1: Open Settings app. This can be done by clicking its icon in the Start menu or simultaneously pressing Windows logo + I.

Step 2: Click System icon and then click Apps & features to see all installed apps as well as classic desktop programs.

Step 3: Click on the app that you want to reset to see Advanced options link. Click on the same (advanced options link).

Step 4: Finally, click the small Reset button. When you click the Reset button, you will a small dialog box with “This will permanently delete the app’s data on this device, including your preferences and sign-in details”. Click the Reset button in the opened dialog box to reset the app.

Once the Reset is done, you will see a check sign next to the Reset button.
