How to watch Apple TV+ on a Windows PC

Apple TV+ has plenty of decent shows worth watching, but this can seem difficult to Windows users as there’s no dedicated app in the Windows Store. Not to worry, though, as it’s actually very easy to enjoy all the content on Apple TV+ on your PC if you follow these simple steps.

What is Apple TV+?

This service is Apple’s flavour of TV and movie streaming, which competes with (or complements) Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Disney+ and other media content providers. The selection of titles is definitely smaller than is offered by its rivals, but Apple seems happy to create quality shows with big-name stars at a moderate pace rather than buying in a wealth of content from other creators.

Using the service costs £4.99/$4.99 per month, but there’s also a year’s free subscription included if you buy a new iPhone, iPad, iPad Touch, Apple TV or Mac.

Apple TV+ is also part of the Apple One subscription services that bundles in combinations of Apple Music, Apple Arcade, Apple News+, Apple Fitness+ and iCloud. To see what each tier costs and has to offer, read our should I get Apple One? guide.

While there’s no app, you can still access all the show on Apple TV+ by using the web portal. The same holds true for Chromebooks and (we assume) those on Linux distros. To do this go to tv.apple.com and you should see the Apple TV+ page with an option to Sign In at the top-right corner.

Click that, enter your Apple ID and password, then you should be able to watch all of the content on the service.

If you don’t have an active Apple TV+ account, then you can click the Start your free trial button on the home screen and sign up. The trial period is 7 days, after which you’ll move to the monthly £4.99/$4.99 subscription.

If you’ve bought a new Apple device that qualifies for the 1-year free Apple TV+ subscription, you should see the free offer appear when you sign in with your Apple ID. If not, try contacting Apple Customer Service.
