Check if display driver is installed on your PC

More often than not, you cannot change the screen resolution without installing the correct display/graphics driver. To check if you have installed the display driver:

Step 1: Right-click on the Start button on the taskbar and then click Device Manager to open the same.

Step 2: Expand Display or Display adapters. Entry of your display/graphics card indicates that the driver is installed. If the display driver is not installed, you will see Microsoft basic display driver entry instead of the graphics card entry.

Restart the display driver

At times, restarting the display/graphics driver might fix the issue. So, it’s a good idea to restart the display driver by simultaneously pressing Windows + Ctrl + Shift + B keys. Your PC will make a beeping sound once while restating the display driver and your screen might flicker once during the same.
