Install Docky Application Launcher On Ubuntu 15.04, Ubuntu 14.04 & Linux Mint

Install Docky Application Launcher on Ubuntu 15.04, Ubuntu 14.04 and Linux Mint Systems. The Docky Application Launcher is OS X-style Dock Launcher for Ubuntu 14.10/14.04/Linux Mint Systems.

Docky is a dock for the GNOME desktop. It is very similar in functionality to Mac OS X’s Dock (application launcher). The Docky launcher can be installed on Debian, Ubuntu, Fedora, Sabayon, OpenSUSE and Arch Linux Systems.


To install Docky Application Launcher on Ubuntu 14.10, Ubuntu 14.04 and Linux Mint Systems, run the following commands in Terminal:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ricotz/docky
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install docky

Once installed, you also change basic settings and customize it as per your need.


If you wish to uninstall and remove Docky launcher from Ubuntu systems, run the following command:

sudo apt-get remove docky
