Install Gnome-Pie circular application launcher for Linux Ubuntu Systems. The Gnome Pie application launcher is inspired by OPie, a World of Warcraft addon. It is made of several pies, each consisting of multiple slices. The user presses a key stroke which opens the desired pie. To install Gnome Pie Circular App Launcher in Ubuntu 17.04, Ubuntu 16.04, Ubuntu 16.10, Ubuntu 15.10, Ubuntu 15.04, Ubuntu 14.04 or Linux Mint 17, run the following commands:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:simonschneegans/testing
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install gnome-pie

Once installed, open the Gnome Pie from Ubuntu Dash. Once opened, you will only see an indicator in the panel bar. You will have to press Ctrl-Alt-A to open the pie or press the icon and select preferences to set it.

By clicking on the “General Settings”-button in the tool bar, you can specify some behavior options. For instance you can enable Startup on Login or set a Global Scale factor. Additionally you can limit the maximum number of displayed items per Pie and a distance beyond which Slices cannot be selected. Furthermore you can select a theme which skins all of your pies to match your taste.
