'Forza 6' Update Details: New eSports Features For Players And Spectators []

We’ve mostly seen new content coming to Forza Horizon 3, but developer Turn 10 is apparently switching it up this month with a new title update for Forza Motorsport 6. The latest update continues to build Forza’s “eSportsability” with tweaks that look to improve the game’s multiplayer and spectator features.

For players that like to micro-manage their online private multiplayer lobby, you’re in luck. The new update introduces features that allow the host to manually organize the grid. Players simply select the “Game Options” menu, scroll to “Advanced Rules,” and select “Grid Ordering.”

To make the online races more official, hosts can also choose to have Grid Preview before the race begins. Players will be shown a car-by-car rundown of the grid, showing player’s Gamertag as well as the make and model of the car.

For the eSports spectators, the update will also offer new In-Race Info, which not only share race info like places and individual positions on racers on the map, but also really in-depth stuff for each driver. Players will know each driver’s car info (class, PI, performance characteristics), as well as telemetry (revs, speed, gear, and braking and throttle inputs). Finally, spectators can also keep track off the racer’s fastest lap, current lap number, lap times, fastest laps, number of Quick Stops and more.

It’s exciting to see how Turn 10 take eSports seriously for players and spectators alike. I’m definitely excited to see how far Forza can take eSports in the future.
