How To Change iPhone / iPad Fonts On iOS 11

If you are running a jailbroken iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, then it stands to reason that you are going to want to know more about customization and explore areas that can be changed. Text and fonts are a big part of any visual smartphone experience, so, with that in mind, we’re going to show you exactly how you can customize the font to one of your liking at a system level on a jailbroken iOS device.

There seems to be no reason to waste any more time so let’s dive right in and take a look at the requirements as well as the process involved in achieving this magnificent feat.

It goes without saying that you will require a jailbroken iPhone or iPad running iOS 11 through till iOS 11.3.1 or iOS 11.4 beta 3 for this to work. Of course Cydia is a must as well. So how do we begin?

Step 1: Launch Cydia on the device and wait for all packages to load and refresh. Once the repositories have updated, head to the section that allows you to add a brand new source. Add the following source in the pop-up: http://cydia.kiiimo.org

Step 2: Once the above URL has been added, select Add Source. Wait for the new repository to be added and for it to automatically refresh packages.

Step 3: Head into the Search functionality in Cydia and search for BytaFont. Tap on the BytaFont 3 (iOS 11) package.

Step 4: Read information about the package if necessary and then select Install from the top corner. Go through the usual process of installing the package. Select Restart Springboard when prompted.

Step 5: When the device loads, launch the BytaFont app and select Tweak Mode from the bottom tab bar. Make sure that the toggle next to Enabled is switched into the On position.

Step 6: Underneath the Base option, select Font and then choose the font that you want from the available options. Be aware that you cannot currently add new fonts of your choosing. Select Respring at the top of the screen.

Step 7: This will apply the chosen font at a system level, meaning that all of Apple’s iOS platform will have the new font applied.

If for whatever reason, you decide that you simply want to go back to the default iOS font, then you can load BytaFont 3, select Tweak Mode from the tab bar, and then select Default > Respring and you are back to where you started.
