Today Aerosoft revealed new information and screenshots about its upcoming lineup for Microsoft Flight Simulator.
All the info were shared on the official forums of the developer (Sources: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5).
First of all, we get to take a brand new look at the upcoming Bombardier CRJ package, showcasing the cockpit and the extensive functionality of the electronic flight bag (EFB):
If you don’t know what an EFB is, it’s a tablet airline that helps pilots with a lot of tasks while preparing and executing a flight. Add-on developers also often it to include settings that don’t fit the default simulator’s UI.
Next, is a look at a textured version of the de Havilland Canada DHC-6 Twin Otter, taken from a materials test. It certainly looks sleek.
Yet, that’s not all, as we get the announcement of the Airbus family (A320/A321, A318/A319, A330), which will come after the CRJ and the Twin Otter.
Three developers are currently working on the systems and the team will grow to six.
Project Director Mathijs Kok shared a very, very early WIP picture and a sort of “Mission statement” for the add-on.
“This project will be in the same ‘idea’ as we have done before, we focus on the job of the captain, rather than on the system. That means we rather include a fully working cockpit door system that is used every 30 minutes than a dual generator failure that has happened twice in all the hours (20 million-plus) that these aircraft have flown. Pilots deal with sick passengers, drunk passengers, blocked toilets, missing catering, crashed multimedia systems etc on a daily basis. A broken engine is something they might see once or twice in their career.”
Last, but not least, we take another look at the Berlin Brandenburg airport, focused on the government reception area.
It’s worth mentioning that none of these project has a release date at the moment. We do know that the CRJ is planned to come in Q1 2021, so it should be close enough.

Microsoft Flight Simulator is already available for Windows 10 and Steam and will release in summer 2021 for Xbox Series X ad Series S.
