The Honor MagicBook 16 was first introduced in China in September, but the new addition unveiled at MWC 2024 will now be available globally. We have the MagicBook 16 Pro version in our office and wanted to share a quick unboxing before diving into the review.

Despite not having a long history of making notebooks, Honor’s recent releases are competitively priced and well-built.

The 16 Pro is powered by an Intel Core Ultra 7 155H processor, Nvidia RTX 4060 GPU, and 32 GB of RAM. It’s important to note that the RAM is soldered, so ensure you order the correct configuration as it cannot be upgraded later. The SSD, however, is user-replaceable, and our model has a 1 TB capacity.

The notebook boasts an impressive 144Hz LCD IPS panel with a minimum brightness of 300 nits. Paired with the powerful Nvidia RTX 4060 GPU, the MagicBook 16 Pro promises solid gaming performance.

On the I/O front, you’ll find 2x USB-C 3.2, 2x USB-A 3.2, a full-size HDMI 2.0 port, and a headphone jack. The laptop charges through one of the USB-C ports at up to 65W rates. With a battery capacity of 56Wh for a 16-inch device, we’ll be testing its real-world performance.

Weighing 1.86 kg, the MagicBook 16 Pro is a reasonable weight for a 16-inch laptop, especially one with a discrete GPU.
