Samsung Galaxy S8 Specs Revealed In Live Leak: No Home Button, Thin Bezels And Rear Fingerprint Scanner Highlighted

Mobile World Congress is one week away and the Galaxy S8 may make a minor appearance, according to rumors. However, recent leaks may give a more detailed look at the upcoming smartphone before it is officially announced.

Images of what is supposedly the Galaxy S8 surfaced on Twitter Monday. The pictured handset lacks a home button and had thin bezels, which backs up longstanding rumors about the device.

Another leak shows the on-screen back and recents navigation buttons for the Galaxy S8. Many devices with no home button, like the Nexus 6P, feature virtual navigation buttons, which fade away when not being used. Users can tap the lower screen area to make them appear again. The leak also shows Samsung’s signature App Edge, which is included on its curved display devices.

A third leak, shared by Android Police, shows what is supposedly a dump of system details for the Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 tablet. Some images include a mockup of a smartphone with a rear fingerprint scanner. Again, if accurate, the leak pairs with longstanding rumors, which indicate the Galaxy S8 fingerprint scanner may be located at the back of the device in the absence of a front-facing home button.

While several leaks of surfaced for the Galaxy S8, the device remains unconfirmed by Samsung. Some other features rumored for the device include 5.7-inch and 6.2-inch dual-edge curved displays, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chip, 3,000mAh and 3,500mAh battery capacities, AI compatible software, USB-C and an Orchid Gray color option.

The smartphone is expected to be announced in late March and released in late April.
