Mysterious 'OnePlus Pixel' Appears On Benchmark Site; Probably Not The OnePlus 3T

OnePlus is scheduled to announce next week a new device, which is believed to be the OnePlus 3T. On Thursday, a device running Android 7.1 Nougat listed as the OnePlus Pixel was spotted on a benchmark site.

The device called OnePlus Pixel first popped up on Geekbench and was spotted by Phone Arena. The device is listed as having a 1.59 GHz Snapdragon 820 processor with 6GB of RAM. The device comes with Android 7.1 Nougat, the same operating system that’s running Google’s Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones.

The OnePlus Pixel doesn’t appear to be the OnePlus 3T — the rumored smartphone that’s expected to come with a Snapdragon 821 processor. Qualcomm has already teased that its Snapdragon 821 chip was coming to a new OnePlus device, while OnePlus itself confirmed the same thing, teasing that all will be revealed on Nov. 15, Tuesday.

It’s currently being speculated that the device listed on Geekbench is simply the OnePlus 3. This could simply be OnePlus testing Android 7.1 Nougat before the update is rolled out to its OnePlus 3 customers, as pointed out by Android Headlines. The “OnePlus Pixel” label could just be a codename for the OnePlus 3 running Android 7.1, since the only other handset running that operating system is Google’s Pixel phones.

That being said, the OnePlus 3T is expected to look pretty much the same as the OnePlus 3. The only confirmed specification right now is that it will be powered by a Snapdragon 821 processor. OnePlus has teased that the Snapdragon 821 on its new device will be clocked at 2.35 GHz, making it faster than the ones found on the Pixel and Pixel XL.

As for other rumored specs, the OnePlus 3T is said to come with an upgraded Sony IMx395 camera sensor, a larger capacity 3,300 mAh battery and a new 128GB storage option. The device is also expected to cost $80 more than the original OnePlus 3, placing its potential price tag at $479.
