Nintendo Switch Pre-Order: Nintendo NY Will Take Reservations Jan. 13

A day before the Nintendo Switch presentation in Japan, the Nintendo NY store in Rockefeller Center announced on Twitter that they will be having a limited quantity of pre-orders for the upcoming hybrid console.

Here’s the tweet from the official Nintendo NY Twitter account:

Rumors about the Nintendo Switch pre-order went rampant earlier this week when a GameStop employee took to Reddit to announce that the store will begin taking pre-orders shortly after the Nintendo Switch presentation on Jan. 12.

There’s also a report that each GameStop will only have a certain number of Nintendo Switch’s available for pre-order and on launch date (sometime in March). The same report says that there may be a shortage of Nintendo Switch on release date similar to the Mini NES Classic.

A source who works at GameStop came out to say that they are only expeting about 20 units of the Nintendo Switch at launch and that this store is about the average size of other GameStops around the country.

GameStop told iDigitalTimes that they will “have more information soon following Nintendo’s event/presentations” the week of the Jan. 12 presentation.

So what do you think of the Nintendo NY Switch pre-orders? Do you expect that other stores will have the same date to take reservations? Let us know in the comments section below.
