Most users won’t need to access or change Unified Extensible Firmware Interface (UEFI) settings on their PCs. That said, if you need to access and change UEFI firmware settings, there are multiple ways to access UEFI firmware settings on PCs running Windows 10.
If you are on Windows 10, you can use any of the given below methods to access UEFI firmware settings.
NOTE 1: Not all PCs out there support UEFI. So, if your PC doesn’t support UEFI, you might not see an option to open UEFI firmware settings.
NOTE 2: If you have not installed Windows 10 yet or Windows 10 is not booting up, follow the directions in Method 3 of the guide.

Access UEFI firmware settings via Settings
Step 1: Open the Settings app. Navigate to Update & Security > Recovery page.
Step 2: In the Advanced startup section, click the Restart now button. Please save your work before clicking the Restart now button.
Step 3: Your PC will restart, and you will get the following Choose an option screen. Click on the Troubleshoot option.
Step 4: At the Troubleshoot screen, click Advanced options.
Step 5: You will now get the Advanced options screen with many options. Here, click the UEFI Firmware settings option.
Note that Windows 10 won’t display the UEFI Firmware settings option if your PC doesn’t support it.
Step 6: Finally, click the Restart button to restart your PC and open UEFI firmware settings.

Open UEFI Firmware Settings from Start/lock
Step 1: When you are at the lock screen or Start screen, hold down the Shift key and then click on the Restart option.
Step 2: Your PC will reboot and display the Choose an option screen. Navigate to Troubleshoot > Advanced options, click UEFI Firmware Settings and then click the Restart button to reboot your PC and open UEFI Firmware Settings.

Open UEFI Firmware Settings when Windows 10 won’t boot or not installed
Step 1: Turn on the PC and press the manufacturer specified key to access the UEFI settings. Most manufacturers mention the UEFI or BIOS key on a screen (with the OEM logo) that shows up soon after turning on the PC. F1, F2, Esc, F11, F12, and Delete are commonly used keys.

Open UEFI firmware settings using Command Prompt
Step 1: Save all your work. Close all running programs.
Step 2: Open the Command Prompt as administrator. To do that, type CMD in Start/taskbar search field, right-click on Command Prompt entry and then click Run as administrator option.
Click the Yes button when you get the User Account Control prompt.
Step 3: At the Command Prompt window, type the following command and then press Enter key to reboot your PC and open the UEFI Firmware Settings.
