Nokia launches Nokia 6, Nokia 7 and Nokia 8 in India

In an event today, Finnish smartphone maker Nokia announced a new line-up of devices running Android. All these smartphones were announced by the company during MWC last month in Barcelona making this the fastest launch of Nokia devices after the global reveal. You can head down to take a closer look at all the three smartphones launched today.

Nokia 6

Nokia 6 (2018) is the upgraded version of Nokia 6 which was launched last year. Priced at 16,999, Nokia 6 will come with a 5.5-inch 2.5D display. Under the hood sits a Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 SoC which is upgraded from last year’s Snapdragon 400. Nokia 6 will come with 3GB RAM, 32GB ROM, and the other with 4GB RAM and 64GB ROM. The device rocks a 16 MP camera which is supposed to be a decent camera, thanks to Nokia’s long-term partnership with Carl Zeiss optics. The device is powered by a 3,000 mAh battery and will support fast charging. Overall the device feels bold and Nokia claims to have built the device from a single block of aluminum for extra durability.

Nokia 7

Along with Nokia 6, HMD Global also announced Nokia 7 which will be priced at 25,999. Nokia 7 rocks a 6-inch Full HD+ panel with 18:9 aspect ratio. Under the hood is a Snapdragon 660 SoC and 4 GB LPDDR4 RAM. Nokia 7 is HMD’s first phone to have a dual-camera setup with a 12-MP wide-angle camera and an aperture of f/1.75 and the other with a 13-MP f/2.6 telephoto lens that supports 2x optical zoom. The device also has a 16-MP front camera for selfies.

Nokia 8

Nokia 8 takes the place as the crown jewel of the line-up and is priced at a staggering 49,999. The device is powered by top of the line Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC and 6GB of RAM. The device comes with a 5.5-inch OLED display. Nokia has used Corning Gorilla Glass 5 to cover 95% of the device. Coming to the camera, Nokia 8 has the same setup as Nokia 7 with 12 and 13 MP camera and front facing 5 MP camera with wide-angle lens. Nokia 8 comes with Wireless charging and carries an IP67 rating.

Nokia 7 and Nokia 8 will be available for pre-book starting April 20 while Nokia 6 will be available to the customers starting April 6. It’s worth noting that Nokia 7 and 8 come with Android One which means they will be one of the first devices to get Android P update when it rolls out.

With the launch of three devices in three different price segment, Nokia is really looking to expand its portfolio in the Indian market. Nokia has also shared an elaborate plan of expanding its reach online with the new Nokia Mobile Shop.
