NVIDIA RTX 3080 Mobility GPU Specs and Performance to be On Par With Desktop Variant: Leak

NVIDIA is all set to launch its GeForce RTX 3080 mobility graphics card and now the specifications of the graphic card have been listed at Geekbench. According to the report, the listing was first spotted by TUM_APISAK which shows that the next-gen RTZ 30 series chipset is running on OpenCL test suite. Recently the GeForce RTX 3070 along with the first listings for the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 30 series mobility lineup was spotted on benchmarks revealing some of the specifications of the GPU. Here’s a closer look at the listing of the GeForce RTX 3080 mobility graphics card.

NVIDIA RTX 3080 Mobility GPU Specs

WccfTech report suggests that the clock speeds of the GPU are hinting that the Max-P variant of the GeForce RTX 3080 instead of Max-Q variant. As per the report, the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Mobility will come with 48 SMs on the GA104 GPU SKU. Under the hood, the chip is equipped with a total of 6144 cores along with a maximum speed of 1540MHz.

The benchmark listing also claims that the graphic card is equipped with a 16GB VRAM and runs across a 256-bit wide bus interface. According to the report, NVIDIA is utilizing 12 or 14GBps DRAM modules which are capable of offering a max bandwidth of 448 GB per seconds at 14GBps DRAM. Preliminary specifications suggest that the Max-Q model will arrive with a TGP between 80-90W. Whereas the Max-P variant is said to feature a TGP of 115-150W. The listing also mentioned that the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Mobility was tested on ASUS ROG Zephyrus GX551QS. The gaming laptop comes equipped with the AMD Ryzen 9 5900H CPU with 8 Zen 3 cores, 16 threads, and can be clocked up to 4.55 GHz.

The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 mobility graphics card has managed to score 139181 points in the OpenCL test. The GPU seems to be 30 per cent slower than the desktop version. Being a Max-P variant the GPU offers lower cores with much lower clocks.
