Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 Gets a Free Trial on Xbox This Weekend

Olympic Games Tokyo 2020, the official game by Sega based on the Olympic Games, is getting a free trial on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S this weekend on July 24 and 25 as part of the Free Play Days initiative just in time with the real Olympic Games. To access it, players will need to have Xbox Live Gold or Xbox Game Pass Ultimate (which includes Xbox Live Gold).

The game itself includes 18 sporting events like Tennis, Football, Basketball, Baseball, 100m, Boxing, Table Tennis, and more. They all have simple arcade-style gameplay that’s familiar to Sega titles, making it a good choice for a party game.

You can also create your own athlete, customizing skills and what to wear to compete. The game goes a bit wild with clothing, allowing costumes like pirate, cowboy, astronaut, and even a hilarious human-sized Sonic the Hedgehog costume.

Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 is also available on PS4, Switch, PC, and Stadia. If you’re more interested in wackier versions of the Olympic Games, there’s Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 on Switch and Sonic at the Olympic Games on mobile devices. Other games on the Free Play Days this weekend include Battlefield 1 and Cobra Kai: The Karate Kid Saga.
