OPPO A53 5G price, specifications, and availability details have been announced as the smartphone goes official in China. The company has introduced the handset as the 5G variant of the OPPO A53 4G (review) that was launched in India back in August. OPPO A53 5G specs remain pretty much the same as the 4G variant, though the Snapdragon 460 chipset has been replaced with the MediaTek Dimensity 720 SoC. OPPO has also reduced the battery capacity on the A53 5G to 4,040mAh from 5,000mAh, which comes as a surprise as 5G phones tend to consume more battery.
OPPO A53 5G price, availability
OPPO A53 5G price is set at RMB 1,299 (~Rs 14,600) and the phone comes with up to 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. The OPPO A53 5G will be available in Purple, Lake Green, and Black colours. The phone will be available for sale in China from December 21st. There is no word yet on the OPPO A53 5G launch in India.

OPPO A53 5G specifications include the 7nm MediaTek Dimensity 720 SoC, which has 5G modem built-in, and 6.5-inch FHD+ LCD screen with 1,080 x 2,400 pixels resolution, 480 nits brightness, and 90Hz refresh rate. The phone highlights a punch-hole design and a square-shaped camera module at the back that houses a triple-camera setup. The setup comprises 16MP primary sensor, 2MP depth sensor, and 2MP macro sensor, backed by AI and LED flash. The front camera on the OPPO A53 5G is downgraded to 8MP from 16MP.
Software-wise, the OPPO A53 5G runs Android 10-based ColorOS 7.2 out of the box. The handset houses a 4,040mAh battery. There is a side-mounted fingerprint scanner for security and a dedicated 3.5mm headphone jack.
