POCO F3 GT India launch confirmed, will feature Dimensity 1200

Several reports have claimed that POCO’s next smartphone for India will be called the POCO F3 GT. Today, POCO India released the first teaser of the smartphone to confirm its moniker. The teaser revealed that the POCO F3 GT will be powered by the Dimensity 1200 chipset.

The teaser ends by saying that the note ‘Q3 coming soon.” This indicates that the POCO F3 GT may break cover in July. It appears that the smartphone could be a rebranded version of the Redmi K40 Gaming Edition, which was announced in China last month.

The Redmi K40 Gaming Edition is the first gaming-centric smartphone from Redmi. It comes with RGB lighting around the rear cameras, and it has mechanical pop-up gaming shoulder buttons. There is a possibility that the POCO F3 GT may include the same specs as K40 Gaming, but it may flaunt a different design.

POCO F3 GT specifications (Rumoured)

The POCO F3 GT may come with a 6.67-inch OLED panel that offers a Full HD+ resolution, a 20:9 aspect ratio, and a 120Hz refresh rate. The Dimensity 1200 chipset may power the smartphone with up to 12 GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 256 GB of UFS 3.1 storage. It will come preinstalled with MIUI 12.5 based Android 11 OS.

The F-series phone may feature a front camera of 16-megapixel and its rear camera system may house a 64-megapixel main camera, an 8-megapixel ultrawide lens, and a 2-megapixel macro camera. It may house a 5,065mAh battery that supports 67W fast charging. The device may feature a side-facing fingerprint scanner, but it may house a 3.5mm audio jack.

POCO India Country Director Anuj Sharma revealed to India Today that the phone could be priced around 350 euros to 400 euros. Hence, there is a possibility that the phone may cost between Rs 25,000 and Rs 30,000 in India.
