Printer will not print, User Intervention Required problem in Windows 10/8/7

At times your Printer may give out an error message – User intervention required on your Windows 10/8/7 computer when you go on to print some documents. If your Printer will not print and you receive such error messages frequently, here are a few troubleshooting steps that may help you.

Printer will not print, User Intervention Required

1] Check if you see any blinking lights on the printer and ensure that all connections are made tightly.

2] Turn the Printer On. Disconnect the power cord from the printer as well as from the power source. Wait for a minute. Meanwhile, restart your computer. Once the computer has booted to the desktop, plug the cord into the wall power source and then to the back of the printer and then turn on the Printer.

3] Reset or cancel the Print queue.

4] Run services.msc to open the Open Services Manager and check if the Spooler Service is running. If not, Start it. If it is running, Restart the Windows Service. If you face issues with the Service, run the Print Spooler Cleanup Diagnostic from Microsoft. It removes non-Microsoft print processors and monitors. Additionally, it collects basic information about the print spooler and the computer, such as information about print drivers, printers, basic networking, and failover clustering and offers various modes of cleanups.

5] Use the built-in Printer Troubleshooter.

To bring up the built-in Printer Troubleshooter, open Run box, type the following and hit Enter:

msdt.exe /id PrinterDiagnostic

You may also run the Hardware Troubleshooter.

6] Restart printing of the document and see if that helps. To do this, open Control Panel > All Control Panel Items > Devices and Printers. Select the printer, right-click on it and select See what’s printing.

8] While there, under the Printer tab, make sure that the Pause Printing and Use Printer Offline entries are unchecked.

9] If you are using an HP printer, run the HP Print and Scan Doctor and see if it helps fix the problem.

10] If you have connected the printer locally, switch the USB Port and see.

Hope something helps!
