  • Razer unveiled its new generation of Razer Blade laptops.
  • The Razer Blade 16 and 18 use the latest 13th-generation Core i9 HX Intel processors.
  • The Razer Blade 18 is the largest and most powerful Blade the company has made to date.

With Alienware announcing its X16 and M18 laptops and Acer announcing its own 16 and 18-inch Helios laptops earlier this week, it seems like the industry is moving back toward large gaming laptops. Razer appears to also be following the trend as it announces its new generation of Razer Blade laptops.

At CES 2023, Razer announced the latest additions to the Razer Blade family — the 16 and 18. According to the brand, both laptops feature the latest 13th-generation Core i9 HX Intel chipset that Intel revealed earlier in the week. The laptops also include Nvidia’s RTX 40 series graphics processors, which run up to 175W TGP, have upgradeable DDR5 5600MHz memory, and offer vapor chamber cooling technologies.

Previously, Razer’s offerings included a 15-inch model and a 17-inch model. For 2023, Razer appears to be moving up an inch, which will result in the company’s first 18-inch Razer Blade laptop.

The Razer Blade 16 has a machined aluminum chassis with a 16-inch HDR-capable dual-mode mini-LED display. That display is capable of reaching up to 1000 nits of brightness and delivers less than a 3ms response time. It also offers two modes for the display — a creator and gamer mode.

The creator mode is said to optimize the display for creators by enabling UHD+ native resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. While the gamer mode ramps up the refresh rate to a smooth 240Hz with a native FHD+ resolution.

Not only is the Razer Blade 18 the company’s first 18-inch laptop, but it’s also the most powerful laptop Razer has ever made, according to the company. The 18-inch screen offers a QHD+ 240Hz refresh rate for smooth gameplay. Additionally, the laptop comes with a 5MP camera, a THX spatial audio 6-speaker array, upgradeable components, a comprehensive port selection, and hyper-efficient vapor chamber cooling.

Unfortunately, the manufacturer didn’t provide an exact launch date for its next generation of Blade laptops. However, the company revealed that the laptops will be available in Q1 of 2023. It also said the Blade 16 will sell for $2,699.99 and the Blade 18 for $2,899.99 at Razer.com, Razer stores, and select retailers.
