Razer unveils 'Naga Trinity' gaming mouse and 'Tartarus V2' keypad

August 5, 2020 by Martin6

Razer may be a smartphone maker nowadays, but don't think for a second the company has forgotten its roots. True, Razer is branching out to other businesses, but it is still a gaming peripheral company at its core.

To drive that point home, today, Razer unveils two new hardcore PC gaming peripherals -- the "Naga Trinity" gaming mouse and "Tartarus V2" gaming keypad. These are two very intriguing products -- evolutions of prior peripheral generations -- both of which focus heavily on complicated multiplayer games, such as MOBA and MMO. The mouse has a replaceable left side, which can give optimized thumb controls based on the game and user preference. The keypad is designed to make many keyboard keys accessible to one hand, making it a more comfortable and streamlined control experience. After all, traditional keyboards were designed for typing -- not gaming.

"Users can opt for the iconic original 12-button thumb grid of the Razer Naga Chroma designed for MMO games like 'World of Warcraft,' or the seven-button thumb wheel of the Razer Naga Hex V2 for MOBA and hack-and-slash titles like 'Heroes of the Storm' and 'Diablo III.' A new two-button configuration completes the trifecta, sporting a minimalistic feel that is perfect for general use. The Razer Naga Trinity also comes equipped with an improved sensor over its predecessors, featuring a 5G, true 16,000 dots-per-inch (DPI) optical sensor with 450 IPS for faster and more accurate mouse movements," says Razer of its new mouse.

Speaking on the keypad, the company explains, "The new ergonomic gaming keypad has 32 fully programmable keys (seven more keys than its predecessor) and features Razer's Mecha-Membrane key technology that offers both a soft, cushioned touch and a crisp, tactile click with each keystroke. Users can further expand commands with the eight-way directional thumbpad and three-way scroll wheel, enabling full reign of movement and endless spell combinations. Existing commands may be doubled using Razer’s Hypershift mode, which opens a secondary set of commands for macros, windows shortcuts, and everything else that can be layered on top of your current settings. Multiple personalized gaming profiles can be created and saved in the cloud via Razer Synapse 3 (Beta) Cloud Storage."

Razer shares the following features of both products.

Razer promises it will be available in Q4 2017, which means it could appear at any time. Hopefully we won't have to wait long, as it looks incredible. Quite frankly, both of these new products would make excellent Christmas gifts for that PC gamer in your life.
