Realme Koi phone with Snapdragon 888 confirmed, expected to arrive with beautiful design

Realme will be launching its first Snapdragon 888 powered smartphone in the first quarter of 2021. Yesterday, Realme China President confirmed that it will be a part of a new smartphone series in the home market. While the rumor mill speculated that it could be arriving with Ace branding, the company confirmed today that its first SD888 phone will be called Realme Koi phone.

Koi is the name of an ornamented domesticated fish that is mainly known for its color and beauty. Koi fish means luck in Chinese and Japanese culture. Hence, it appears that the Realme Koi phone will be arriving with an incredibly attractive design and it could be available in vibrant colors.

Realme has created a dedicated profile for the Realme Koi phone on Weibo. The company is expected to use the profile to share more information on the Snapdragon 888 powered Koi phone.

It can be said based on recent reports that the Realme Koi phone is codenamed Race and its model number is RMX2022. The handset includes 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal storage. It will come preloaded with Realme UI 2.0 based Android 11 OS.

There is no word on the front design of the Realme Koi phone. A leaked shot that was revealed by GSMArena earlier this month that the glass rear of the phone has curved edges. A quad-camera setup housed inside a round-shaped camera module along with an elongated LED flash unit is available on the phone’s back. The device could be equipped with an in-display fingerprint reader. it remains to be seen whether it carries support for 125W UltraDart fast charging technology that was announced in July.
