On Friday, Atari released its latest take on the classic amusement park simulator, RollerCoaster Tycoon Touch. The game has a similar feel to SimCity Build It as players are tasked with building the ultimate amusement park empire, with the Roller Coaster as the central attraction. In the game, players earn cards for completing various tasks. The cards have various amusement park related items on them like rides, food carts, bathrooms, repair facilities and more. As you collect different cards they unlock the ability to build new items in your park or upgrade existing items when enough of the same kind of card are collected. However, owing the cards isn’t enough. Each item that you build or upgrade costs you money – which is earned as patrons come into the park. You’ll need lots of coins to build your park into the amusement station of your dreams, so keeping your customers happy is important so they’ll keep coming back. If you’re familiar with playing different empire building/simulator games, RollerCoaster Tycoon Touch will have some very familiar dynamics. Whether you’re brand new to the genre or an old pro, you’ll likely still find yourself looking for a few tips tricks and cheats to help you get your hands on more precious currency like tickets, cards and coins. Getting enough coins, cards and tickets to build your amusement park can be tough in Rollercoaster Tycoon Touch. Check out our tips for getting more of the stuff you need without spending any money.
In RollerCoaster Tycoon Touch, you’ll discover there are three much needed resources in the game – cards, coins and tickets. You must have cards to unlock new items for your park or to upgrade existing items. Cards come in packs which you must use tickets to purchase. Once you get the cards you then have to spend coins to build or upgrade items in your park.
While you can buy different packages that will give you a certain amount of these items instantly, if you’re like me, I’d rather find ways to earn those things for free and keep my cash for the real world. Here are a few beginners’ tips for gathering more of these items.
Adjust The Prices Of Admission And Attractions
You can set the price of your park attractions from cheap to expensive in RollerCoaster Tycoon Touch
When you build a new attraction in the park, you have the option to decide on the price. Simply tap on any attraction in your park to bring up the menu. You will see a price tag icon. If you tap it, you can adjust the price of that attraction up or down. I wouldn’t recommend making any of your attractions expensive as it may turn away customers, but keeping it in the high end of “good value” will ensure you’re getting the most coins you can out of each attractions.
Complete Daily Quests
Completing Daily Missions can earn you coins, tickets and experience in RollerCoaster Tycoon Touch
To the left of your screen you’ll see an icon with a clipboard on it. These are your daily RollerCoaster Tycoon Touch quests. Depending on the quest you can earn coins or tickets. You will also earn experience towards leveling up. Definitely take a look at thee regularly and try to fulfill the requirements in order to gain more coins and tickets quickly.
Check In Often
You’re going to find in RollerCoaster Tycoon Touch that there are times when things are just slow and there’s nothing you can really do. That’s usually a good time to walk away for an hour or so and then check back in. When you check back in, you’ll find most of your attractions will have gathered coins that you can use to build or upgrade items. In addition, every four hours, if you watch a 20 second video ad, you’ll be rewarded with a pack of 7 cards. It may not be a ton, but it’ll keep you a float.
Upgrade In-Demand Items
In general, if you have an upgrade available on food stops or attractions, I’d try to do the upgrades. Upgrades not only allow you to build more of the item, it also improves the quality of the item and leads to greater happiness for your park patrons and more coins for your pocket.
Complete Trophy Challenges
Completing trophy challenges will earn you tons of tickets and decorative trophies for your park in RollerCoaster Tycoon Touch.
In addition to daily missions, there are more long-term goals available which will earn you tickets and park trophies. Be sure to check those out by tapping on the trophy icon on the screen. The good thing about earning trophies is that they can be placed in your park for free, which increases the decoration level of the park, making it more desirable for visitors.
Do Some Marketing
Another way to increase the coins coming in is to increase the number of visitors. Around level 7 you’ll unlock the ability to market your park. You can pay to market it, or watch a video ad that will increase your customer flow by 5% for three hours.
