Satechi Launches the Only MacBook Dongles You’ll Ever Need

Satechi Pro Hub Max dongle for MacBook

For many MacBook users, dongles are simply part of life. Getting back old ports and accessory options Apple’s since left behind. If you’re looking for one dongle that does a little of everything, Satechi has you covered. This week, Satechi announced the Pro Hub Max and a powerful USB4 Multiport Adapter with future-proof features like 8K HDMI.

Building on the success of the Pro Hub Mini last year, at CES 2022, Satechi dropped two of the only Mac dongles you’ll ever need. In fact, the Pro Hub Max is built specifically for Apple’s latest MacBook Pro, and here’s what you’ll get from both.

Satechi Pro Hub Max

The Satechi Pro Hub Max is similar to the Mini announced in November of last year, only it’s obviously bigger and features more ports for creators or business professionals looking to do more on their Mac.

The Pro Hub Max plugs in perfectly to the side of the new MacBook Pro, then takes all the USB-C power and distributes it to a slew of ports and options for users. Those include USB-C with 96W power delivery, which is enough to recharge just about anything. Not to mention HDMI out up to 4K at 60 Hz, USB-C, USB-A, gigabit ethernet for hardwired connections, a combo SD/MicroSD card reader, and of course, a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Thanks to its smooth aluminum finish and dual USB-C connectors, it’ll blend in perfectly with your Mac for a clean, easy-to-use setup. The Pro Hub Max will be available “soon” for $99 on the Satechi website.

Then, for those looking for even more power or planning to run several external displays and accessories, Satechi also launched a USB4 Multiport Adapter with 8K HDMI. It’s worth noting that Apple’s new M1 Max MacBook can output to three external displays at 6K, so this is technically future-proof and has a lot to offer.

Satechi’s USB4 adapter is similar to the dongle above yet delivers even more power for those in need. It includes USB-C (USB4) with up to 100w power delivery charging, HDMI with support up to 8K at 30Hz, the same combo SD/MicroSD card reader, gigabit ethernet, a 3.5mm headphone jack, not to mention two USB-A ports (USB 3.2 at 10 Gbps) and a regular USB-A port.

Like the Pro Hub Max, only a bit more capable in select scenarios, the USB4 Multiport Adapter with 8K will also be available “soon” for $149 on Satechi’s website.

Unfortunately, the company didn’t share an exact release date, but you can sign up on its website to get notified once these are available.
