Sprint Teases Free iPhone 8 Trade-In Deal

iPhone 8

Looking to upgrade from the iPhone 7 or Galaxy S8 to a new iPhone 8? On Sprint, you could get that $699 Apple handset for free.

New customers can get a 64GB iPhone 8 for free when they trade in one of five eligible handsets—an iPhone 7, 7 Plus, Galaxy S8, S8 Plus, or Note 8—and opt for Sprint’s Flex lease payment plan. With Sprint Flex, you have the option after 18 months to return your device and upgrade to a new one, pay the remainder in one payment to own it, or continue making six more monthly payments to own it.

Sprint is also extending the deal to existing customers who own their iPhone 7. Other current customers can log into Sprint.com to check their upgrade eligibility for “personalized offers” and save $30 for upgrading online, the company said.

If you already pre-ordered the iPhone 8 through Sprint, the carrier will “automatically modify [customers’] pre-order based on their trade in,” Sprint said in a news release.

If you don’t have one of the aforementioned handsets, Sprint is offering 50 percent off the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus to those who trade in an iPhone 6, 6 Plus, 6s, 6s Plus, Galaxy S7, GS7 Edge, G6, Note 5, V20, Moto Z2 Force, Pixel, Pixel XL, Moto Z Droid, Z Play, Z Force Droid, or Z2 Play.

The free iPhone 8 deal comes after Sprint last week guaranteed it would offer the best monthly price on the 64GB iPhone 8 and 8 Plus for customers who switch from a different carrier. If you see another national carrier offering a better price on the phone within 14 days of your purchase, Sprint will give you the difference on a Visa card or one-time credit.
